Montreal composer-pianist Ofer Pelz performs 'it starts' - an intimate evening of piano and electronics, composed in real time, made for small rooms and close listening.

The evening plays 'it starts', my album of piano and electronics released in June 2026 on offnotes records. The pieces began as Love Tapes - music written for one person at a time, each piece starting from a recorded audio letter to someone I love. On stage it is piano first, with gentle electronic processing around it. I speak before the music, not between the pieces.

about ofer pelz
Ofer Pelz is a composer, improviser, and educator based in Montreal. His music has been performed at festivals including IRCAM-ManiFeste (Paris), La Biennale di Venezia, MATA Festival (New York), and Festival Cervantino (Mexico). He teaches at the Conservatoire de Montréal. 'it starts' is his solo project, part of Love Tapes.
